A lively square with two cannons and a terrace perfect for observing the bustle of the city center

Praça do Centenario is a lively and very pleasant place to have a drink in Santarém, sitting on a terrace and watching the bustle of the city center. Praça do Centenário is also known locally as Praça São Raimundo Nonato, named after the church on one side. It's the neighborhood's main square. It was built in 1948, the centenary of Santarém's acquisition of city status, which logically gave it its name. The square is embellished with two cannons.
