ESTAÇÃO DAS DOCAS

The docks actively contributed to the development of Belém before their decline. To revitalise this ageing and poorly frequented part of the city, the municipality has converted an area of the docks into a leisure and shopping area. The area is very lively at weekends, with shops and a wide range of good restaurants and bars. Although rehabilitated, the place has kept its cobbled quay with rails, and some of its old yellow cranes, which gives the place a nostalgic charm with a view over the river.
