As already mentioned for Sao Luis, the towns of Alcântara and Sao Luis are separated by the bay of Sao Marco. There is a ferry service between the two towns. When arriving on site, confirm the exact time of return to avoid unpleasant surprises. There are 4 or 5 boats per day between São Luís and Alcantara. Almost all of them leave Sao Luis in the morning and return in the afternoon.
The departure can change according to the tides, please ask beforehand.
