In addition to the Ricardo Brennand ceramics factory and museum, the ceramist has also set up a foundation. In the 2000s, art patron Ricardo Brennand built the Castelo São João, inspired by English castles, to house his art collection on a large wooded plot of over 70,000 m², surrounded by preserved mata atlantica. It includes an art gallery, a weapons museum and a picture gallery. Today, the complex also boasts a library and café.
