Bom Jesus street, in old Recife, is one of the most emblematic places in the capital of Pernambuco. It was voted the3rd most beautiful city in the world by Architectural Digest magazine in 2020. It's a beautiful, colorful street, recently upgraded, although you still need to be very vigilant after dark and at weekends. History is omnipresent (you'll find the Kahal Zur Israel synagogue). The ark of Jesus was one of the city's gateways. Beautiful palm trees and bars make this a very pleasant place for a daytime stroll.
