The cute colonial church Nossa Senhora d'Ajuda, in the village square, dates back to 1549. The church is not open to visitors on weekdays, if you want to take a look, you will have to go to Sunday Mass.

Of note on the church square is a small statue of Christ the Redeemer (inspired by the one in Rio).
