Built between 1775 and 1800 in buildings of different periods and styles, it now houses the Institute of Geosciences.
The buildings that make up the current Casa da Glória are of different periods and styles. This building, built between 1775 and 1800, nowadays houses the Institute of Geosciences (cartography, geography and geology). It was Manuel Viana, the husband of Dona Josefa Maria da Glória, who lived in the house until 1813, hence the name "Casa da Glória". The interest is more architectural, with the photogenic Passadiço da Glória, a passage connecting the two different parts above the street, which is the emblem of the city.
