This unique site in Europe covers more than 6 hectares. Designed in the shape of a planisphere, the Garden for the Earth takes visitors on a world tour in the footsteps of the great explorers. From the belvedere, the world unfolds before your eyes. The lawns symbolize the seas and oceans, while the planted areas take the shape of the continents. 2,000 varieties and 700 species of plants are restored to their continent of origin: the geranium for Africa, the tomato for South America... And what if the tulip didn't originate in the Netherlands?

Depuis l'enfance, on a joué, on a observé les insectes danser, senti les plantes pousser, puis on a bu des bières avec les amis pour prendre un bol d'air, puis on l'a visité encore, on a entraîné les copains venus de plus loin, on est revenu pour donner un coup de main, et pour flâner toujours... Merci le Jardin d'être ce lieu de vie, de nature et de rires !

Arlanc is an easily overlooked little town as you head towards La Chaise Dieu. We camped here in what then was a municipal campsite next to the river 43 years ago in a battered old VW camper. There is still a campsite here, though now privately owned, but also beautiful shady camping car spots alongside the etang. The whole area has changed very little and visiting out of season it has an air of gentle dilapidation, but still beautiful in autumn.
