This single church, with its detached campanile, is the oldest church in Ouro Preto, built in a working-class district.
Built from 1701 to 1704 in a working-class neighborhood, it is the oldest church in Ouro Preto, and the only one with a campanile detached from the church. Behind a simple facade with a discreet door and a pediment without embellishments, hides one of the most richly decorated churches in Ouro Preto. The interior is divided into a single nave with a vaulted ceiling, two altars, and a chapel, where the main altarpiece is located, heavily decorated with gilding. In the cemetery there is a large pontifical cross stone, unique in all Minas Gerais.
