Two beaches slightly removed from the busiest areas of the southern zone, frequented by surfers and weekend bathers

These two beaches are not the best known in Rio de Janeiro. They are a little far from the most agitated areas of the southern zone. However, they are worth a few hours' stop. The beaches of Pepino and São Conrado are flown over by the wings of paragliders that descend from Pedra Bonita and land there. They are not very crowded during the week, but on weekends, surfers and swimmers flock there. The district is posh and pleasant.
