In the beautiful home of Raymundo de Castro Maya, a rich French patron of the arts, his works purchased during his travels until his death in 1972 are exhibited. The museum is composed of 2 parts: European art and Brazilian art. Beautiful collection of paintings, from landscape to abstract (Courbet, Rousseau) and Matisse, Picasso, Dali, Braque, Seurat, Degas, Miro, Modigliani, Léger and Dufy; paintings by impressionists, fauvists, cubists, pointillists and surrealists; 61 drawings by Jean-Baptiste Debret. 18,000 m² of gardens created by Burle Marx.
