The magnificent building lit up in green at night that can be seen from Posto 8 at the end of Texeira de Melo street is... an elevator! Inaugurated in June 2010, it now allows the inhabitants of the Cantagalo favela (and those of the neighbouring community of Pavão pacified) to return home without having to face the steep stairs from the foot of the morro. At the top, 65 m high, a glass and steel footbridge joins the first houses. Nice view.
