Rio's municipal theater, now home to Rio's opera and philharmonic orchestras, offering an excellent program
Rio's Municipal Theater, an emblem of Carioca culture, was inaugurated in 1909. Strongly inspired by the Opéra Garnier, it now houses the Rio Opera and Philharmonic Orchestra. The program is often of the highest quality. Classical operas and ballets are regularly offered. You can consult the program and book tickets directly on the website, at prices more affordable than in France. Interesting tours of the theater are organized.
