ARCO DE TELES

The Arco de Teles is one of the most lively areas of the center in the evening to have a drink. You can get there from Praça XV de Novembro, through a portal in the shape of an arch (the eponymous Arco do Teles). From Wednesday onwards, the place is packed like an egg. The pedestrian streets are invaded by bar tables and many people drink standing up for lack of space. Several bars-discotheques operate in this street. The setting of this street is used in many historical films that present Rio in the ^19th or early ^20th century.
