Brazil is a land of mines and precious stones. Jules Sauer, from Alsace, arrived in Brazil in 1939 at the age of 18 to make his fortune. Starting out as a diamond prospector, he went on to trade in precious stones. In 1953, he opened his first boutique in the legendary Copacabana Palace. Today, he is one of the country's leading jewelers. In his Ipanema boutique, you can visit a museum retracing the Brazilian history of precious stones. Many of the brand's boutiques can be found in luxury hotels.
