Occupying a very strong position, at the top of a granite pit dominating the Seuge basin, Esplantas Castle was built by Odilo de Mercœur, bishop of Mende from 1247 to 1274 to protect the southern flank of its saugaines possessions. After more than years of long and meticulous repairs, the castle registered at the Additional Inventory of Historical Monuments has regained its splendour. Dominique serving, owner, fully découvrir him two months in the year and during the heritage, home and dungeon days including the garden. The lighting of the dungeon erected in the th century marks the culmination of this work, by promoting this remarkable construction.
