IGLESIA SAN FRANCISCO DE ASIS

After passing under the Arco de Triunfo, in front of the market, we are stopped by what could be the most beautiful church in Ayacucho. It is a large, heavily framed church dating from 1552. Its altarpieces offer a profusion of ornaments, as well as the altar with its mixed motives: arabesques, grapes, grapevines... The paintings, representing saints, kings of Spain and Incas, shine in their frame of embossed silver, and the wooden pulpit does not deprive the whole.
