TREN MACHO

The famous "Tren Macho" runs 128 km through 38 tunnels and 11 bridges between Huancavelica and Huancayo. A train runs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays in the direction Huancayo-Huancavelica, and on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays in the opposite direction. The departure is at 6:30 am. The price is from S/ 9 to S/ 13 (with buffet service) per person. Counting 6 hours of travel, but breathtaking and at a ridiculous price. There is regular talk of concessions, improvements, suspensions of service, so watch out. From 2012 to 2019, it was running and should resume in 2023.
