CONVENTO SANTA ROSA DE OCOPA

33 km from Huancayo, we go there by colectivo, direction Concepción, until Matahuasi where we change buses. This convent with four cloisters was built in 1725 and is located in the middle of fields and still green nature. It is possible to sleep here in a monastic way. The pinacoteca contains paintings of the Cusco school and the library some 25,000 volumes. Gigantic fresco by Josué Sanchez with exotic colors like those of Gauguin. A must see: it is the little jewel of this valley.
