MERCADO MAYORISTA RAEZ PATIÑO

The stalls of street vendors occupy the streets above the plaza Huamanmarca every day. Fruit juice stalls on Calle Ica. Coca leaves, grown further down, spill out of large burlap bags and the benches are overflowing with heaps of fruit and vegetables. The women of Huancayo wear drab costumes and white straw hats with raised brims. This market next to the Real Plaza shopping center is a bit of a culture shock.
