A very beautiful and spacious square, with a nice central fountain, palm trees, the immaculate cathedral in the background and the volcanoes in the distance. Very pleasant to sit there in the sun and watch the time go by. You can also see many locals who take their quarters there. Many photographers (with a film camera!) will offer you to immortalize the moment in front of the fountain with the cathedral in the background.
Once night falls, the cathedral lights up and often musicians bring out their instruments to liven up the early evening.

IL y en a des plazas de armas dans la plupart des grandes villes, mais celle-ci est majestueuse, grande et sûrement l'une des plus belles du pays. De beaux bâtiments sur son pourtour, une magnifique cathédrale qui s'impose, de belles arcades avec des commerces et échoppes, une atmosphère, les touristes sont au rendez vous en nombre sur cette place, poumon de la ville.

Comme dans la plupart des villes du pays la place d'Armes est la place principale d'Arequipa entourée des principaux monuments de la ville.
Très belle vue sur la cathédrale mais aussi sur le volcan Misti qui domine la ville.

A Plaza de Armas moreover in Latin America; and yet this is undoubtedly one of the prettiest. The view that offers the cathedral with in the background the volcano is priceless!
