MUNICIPAL TEATRO

At the time of its construction, in 1870, it was one of the most prestigious theaters on the continent. It must be said that the building of stone, adobe and wood does not lack elegance. If you are lucky enough to enter, you will discover ceilings painted in the purest baroque style and beautiful paintings representing illustrious characters from Tacna such as the poet Federico Barreto, the painter Francisco Lazo and the historian Modesto Molina. Currently, this theater has a cast of young actors who perform different cultural events.
