Lima : Discover

"Lima la grise" (as the city is known), due to the garua (the fog that hangs over the city between April and November), now has a population of over 9 million. Its surface area of 2,644.67 km² makes it the world's largest desert city, ahead of Cairo. The face of the city is very different, depending on whether you visit the elegant historic center, which is bordered by precarious neighborhoods made of sheet metal and makeshift housing, Miraflores or San Isidro, which are very privileged, or Barranco, with its bohemian, trendy soul. Numerous other neighborhoods climb the hills and house the dreams and projects of a new class of migrants. Lima is constantly changing and transforming itself. With gastronomy at the forefront, Lima is increasingly establishing itself as a must-see stopover for its architectural and cultural wealth. A good idea? Visit Lima in summer (December-May). Blue skies, paragliders and surfers against a backdrop of the Pacific Ocean.
