OBÉLISQUE D'ALTO DA MEMÓRIA

On the heights of Angra, this obelisk was built in 1856 with the stones of the old castle of Moinhos. It was erected to commemorate the passage in 1832 on the island of Dom Pedro IV, Royal Prince of Portugal and Emperor of Brazil. A visit is not to be missed, especially for the superb view of the city and the ocean from the promontory on which the obelisk stands. You can get there on foot from the bottom and the municipal garden. Notice to the courageous!
