Five former barns transformed into refuges for resting at the end of the day, offering several options.
"Grand Route - GR01SMA", the longest hike in the Azores, 80 km and 5 days. And along the way, four old barns have been transformed into refuges where you can rest at the end of the day. Built of wood and old stone, the refuges are modern, warm and comfortable. There are several packages to choose from, ranging from a simple overnight stay with your sleeping bag, to an all-inclusive package: 5 nights in a refuge, bed with sheets, meals, towels and luggage transfer. A great way to discover Santa Maria.

One of the best experiences we have had! A big thank you to the Ilha a Pe team that were very accommodating and arranged everything perfectly! Definitely one of the best hikes we have done, beautiful landscapes, comfortable and clean shelters, easy communication with the team…everything was just great!

Die Tour war der Hammer! Wir haben 5 unvergessliche Tage erlebt mit täglich neu wunderschönen Orten und Erlebnissen. Alles war sehr gut organisiert und vorbereitet, das Essen schmackhaft. Die Hütten stehen an ganz besonderen Orten, 3 mit bezauberndem Meerblick. Wir wurden sehr gut eingewiesen durch Laurent und konnten uns auch bei Problemen immer an ihn wenden. Wir haben den Gepäcktransport sehr geschätzt und konnten so mit Tagesgepäck unterwegs sein. Der Weg war meist gut gekennzeichnet und kam an allen schönen Orten der Insel vorbei. Gerne empfehlen wir diese Tour weiter.

Wauw, I have not much words for this trail and ioannas and Rita. We loved every step. The island surprised us with the green and variations of natur. All cabins the comfy food it is wonderful
