São Miguel Island is full of beautiful hiking sites.
You can take these walks by yourself because they are well marked and particularly well referenced on the official site (detailed trails and regularly updated of those closed for weather reasons). Notice to experienced hikers!
However, it may be more rewarding and less risky to make a small group guided hike. During the walk, the guide will provide you with different geological, biological or historical information, which you can pass if you choose to be autonomous.

les randonées au Acores sont fantastique. il est possible de faire une randonnée differente chaque jour et y voir quelque chose de different a chaque fois. la vegetation y est magnifique. attention a toujour prevoir une protection pour la pluie car elle arrive vite, mais elle peut repartir tout aussi vite.
