The history of the place dates back to 1908, when a group of teachers who arrived from the continent to teach at a high school in Ponta Delgada opened the Atlantico restaurant. In the 1950s, the premises were acquired by Alcides, the current owner who gave it his name... and made his beef (steak) famous. The restaurant has kept its reputation thanks to the "beef Alcides" which is said to be one of the best in the archipelago! But it also offers fresh fish dishes and other dishes typical of the region. Highly recommended.

Le steak d'Alcides est une institution et c'est vraiment délicieux. Mais il y a bien d'autres choses tout aussi bonnes. Le service est super efficace et ils ont une très bonne sélection de vins de la région.
