Located at the tip of Bahia Honda Island between the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean, Bahia Honda State Park has the most beautiful beaches in the Keys and South Florida. You'll love their turquoise waters and white sand hemmed in by coconut trees! To the north, there is Sandpurbeach, a superb white sand beach with clear waters. This State Park can be discovered in many ways: you can walk through the lush vegetation and discover the remains of the old railroad, but also rent a kayak, go snorkeling and even sleep on the spot.

A ne pas manquer!
Nous y sommes passés en remontant de Key West, ce parc vaut vraiment le détour! L'entrée est payante, moins de 10 dollars par véhicule pour la journée. Les couleurs de l'eau sont merveilleuses. On peut en profiter pour monter sur l'ancien pont qui reliait les keys, avant de profiter des barbecues disponibles. Malheureusement, une partie du parc est fermée actuellement suite au dernier cyclone.

De retour de Key West, nous nous sommes arrêté au Bahia Honda State Park pour un moment de détente sur ces magnifiques plages sauvages.
L'entrée dans ce parc national est payante (8$ / véhicule), mais les paysages en valent largement le coup (et le coût). Nous gardons un souvenir mémorable de ces lieux d'une beauté exceptionnelle !
