Covering an area of 570km2, the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge is home to over 1000 species of plants, 330 birds, 31 species of mammals, 117 species of fish and 68 amphibians. We advise you to stop by the Visitor Center to learn more about the activities available on site. The place is particularly popular with hikers with its various trails. The Black Point Wildlife Drive, an 11 km auto-tour, allows you to have a nice overview of the wildlife.
