My friend and I had a great stay at the Penguin! Our room was spotless and we had enough space to be comfortable. The mini-fridge and ice machine were appreciated. Breakfast at the sister hotel (The President) was nothing special, but it was nice to be able to get something to eat each morning to start the day. The rooftop pool at The President was also nice. Staff were friendly and helpful, and Carmen gave us a speedy and prompt check-in and check-out. The location is absolutely perfect; walking distance from everything in South Beach, literally steps from the beach and great restaurants. Excellent value for the area. My only negative is that beach chairs aren't included in the resort fee, but towels are so we just sat in the sand.

I’m only giving this a 4 star because James was extremely great in providing customer service after I was placed in the wrong room and had to keep walking up and down the hotel. Thanks James for being awesome.

Ubicado en la Ocean Drive con un montón de locales gastronómicos cerca. La habitación era sencilla, la cama muy cómoda, el baño bien, completo. Con el resort fee incluye 2 botellas de agua por día en la habitación y también te dan un trago de bienvenida. Lo que no me gustó es que había que ir a otro edificio para ocupar pileta y desayunar, que se llenaba rápido ya que el lugar no era muy grande y tampoco había mucha variedad para desayunar.

The best spot if you want to be on ocean drive. Right across the beach in the heart of South beach Miami. The room was great, the view from the window in the room was beautiful. The front desk service was great. I had a blast, Definitely will be coming back!

Beautiful boutique hotel. Perfect location to parks, beach, restaurants, and bars.
Very clean rooms, albeit they are very small.

Room was too small and building very old and in need of repair badly. Elevator a bit scary..The thing that stuck out to me the most was the strong smell (disinfectant?) throughout. It was overpowering..Nobody at the desk most of the time, especially at night.
Carmen, who seem to work the a.m. shift, was very sweet and nice and attentive, though.

Crazy on their app they say there’s parking. Note: there is no parking. The street is blocked off so it’s crazy when you first get there wondering where to park !! We had to pay at the parking garage about two city blocks down $50 a day 13th street and Collins corner... Robert was awesome at the parking garage they park and bring your car out whenever you need it 24-7.
Have to go to the sister hotel behind the hotel in the alley to get drinks and food. The Penguin hotel was like a Ghost Town most of the time, specially, at night. Great spot though for getting out and about.
Highly recommend getting a city bike out of any rack in town and riding the trails by the beach especially going south and seeing the dock out in the water at night. It’s a beautiful Chill path that takes you through a nice trail with beautiful lights, And nice prices too for this!

Parking is sketchy. They claim to have valet but you have to find a place to park to find out where the valet is. Turns out its about 3 blocks from the hotel. They welcome email they send you before you get there is completely misleading about what you need to do for parking. Probably call and talk to them in-person before you get there. Rooms are nice but small. View is exceptional. Location couldn't be better. Amenities are great

Noisey rooms with its loud AC/fan, not very clean, hidden fees, stay away from this place. There are many hotels you can choose to stay.

You have to set your expectations accordingly. This is an old property. Very old. It shows in some places for sure. The rooms are comfortable. They have plenty of space for two people with luggage. The bathroom is adequate. Good water pressure as well. Comfortable bed. The staff is friendly at the front desk. The three stars are given because they lack the most basic thing that any hotel must have in 2024. Robust internet. They don’t have it. Period. The TV has the ability to connect to streaming platforms, but not the internet. This hotel could spend less than $10,000 USD to upgrade the entire property to WiFi that covers every corner of the property and they must get internet that can handle everyone connecting at the same time. Two access points with 4x4 beam antennas, wifi 6 is probably all they need. I couldn’t even work on my laptop and connect to my office. This service is vital. If it was 1983, understandable. But in 2024 where everyone requires connectivity (especially tourists that may not have roaming in their plan), this is unacceptable to me. Other than that (and if you don’t care to not have internet) this hotel may be a good option for you. Don’t expect luxury. But it’s nice and it’s comfortable. More than adequate for coming at night to sleep and get a good shower the next morning.

Location of this hotel is what you pay for. Right in-front of the miami beach. At night the entire street becomes lit and everything is walkable from this hotel. The street infront of this hotel is closed so we had to park our car in m&g valet parking who charged us $40 per night.

Also this hotel has resort and deposit which they take at the time of check-in. They also provide storing luggage facility

Muy bien para lo que buscamos, estar cerquita de la movida en south beach. La playa está cruzando la calle literalmente.
El desayuno es a la vuelta por la collins av, en el president y la comida del mismo es muy buena. No tiene gym ni spa pero eso no es lo que buscamos al tener la playa ahí nomás. La ubicación es muy buena, cerca de tiendas, bares y restaurantes. Tienen piscina pero está en otro hotel (es la misma situación que pasa con el desayuno) pero está cerca, aunque no la utilizamos ya que vuelo a repetir, está la playa cruzando la calle.
Lo recomiendo para viajeros que no quieran gastar mucho pero quieran estar muy bien ubicados.

Ottimo hotel su Ocean drive. Ambiente piacevole e familiare, la colazione fatta nell'hotel convenzionato è buona e varia, per la spiaggia ti danno gli asciugamani e ci hanno tenuto gratuitamente le valigie alcune ore dopo il check out. Ottimi servizi, ci torneremo volentieri

We love it ! Excellent location, everything from entertainment and convenience stores are walking distance. comfortable bed , clean bathroom , quiet and outstanding customer service at front desk.

Definitely an art deco hotel. The rooms were clean. A large mirror took up one wall. The bathroom was updated and very clean. Walls were thin and outside noise (construction) came in the room. A/C was noisy. Excellent location. Right across from the beach. Restaurants were close and varied. The complimentary
breakfast was excellent.

Awesome location. But horrible during spring break. They close off the street so you have to haul your luggage over a block away. When I got there I was struggling to get in with mine and my family's luggage the front desk didn't even think about helping I felt so defeated. If service was better I would have put 5 stars.
