A classic South Beach hotel offering simple, comfortable rooms at a good price
An Art Deco establishment that is one of the great classics of South Beach, recognizable among thousand thanks to the superb yellow retro car permanently parked. Located on Ocean Drive and thus facing the beach, it benefits from a central location that allows easy access on foot or by bike. This hotel offers good value for money with sober but comfortable rooms. The restaurant, A Fish Called Avalon, is very famous; the chef Kal Abdalla proposes a tropical inspired cuisine with a lot of seafood.

Ein nettes aber etwas veraltetes Hotel direkt am Ocean Drive. Das Zimmer war OK, geräumig und sauber. Trotz Springbreak war es sehr ruhig, nur die Klimaanlage war sehr laut und störend in der Nacht. Freundliches Personal.

Lage: Perfekte Lage am Ocean Drive. Restaurants sind in der Nähe zu finden, genau wie ein CVS Shop. Dort sind die Preise sogar günstiger als in vielen anderen Shops gewesen.
Volleyballnetze, Beach Walk und Strandzugang sind sehr nahe am Hotel.
Service: Das Personal war jederzeit freundlich und hilfsbereit. Diese Mitarbeiter bilden die Seele dieses Hotels. Der Zimmerservice war sehr gut.
Essen: Wir haben nur das Frühstück inklusive gehabt. Es gab eine kleine Auswahl an Speisen und fast immer das Gleiche. Es reicht aber um über den Tag zu kommen.
Sonstiges: Es gibt ganz unkompliziert Strandhandtücher an der Rezeption und einen Wasserspender.
Negatives: Die Klimaanlage im Raum war sehr laut. Es gibt keine Ablagemöglichkeiten für Kleidung und nur beschränkt die Möglichkeit nasse Kleidung zu trocknen.
Wer im Hotel Abends sitzen möchte und Cocktail trinken will, der wird enttäuscht. Entweder man isst dort komplett oder muss es lassen. Eine Bar gibt es nur im Innenbereich, was angesichts der schönen Aussicht und der Temperaturen aber keinen Sinn macht. Es ist auch nicht möglich zwischendurch mal einen Kaffee oder so zu trinken.
Wichtig bei der Geldplanung: Es wird vor Ort nicht nur die Kurtaxe entrichtet, sondern auch eine Kaution für das Zimmer. Diese bekommt man bei der Abreise zurück.
