Love this hotel and highly recommend to everyone visiting Miami ????Great location, awesome service and all amnesties with beautifully designed. Linda at the reception was very welcoming and very supportive in giving us the best room with good size and quite.
It's a good thing they never replaced the original sign that reads "Motel" as that is exactly what this place is. My company booked this room for me and let me tell you NEVER AGAIN. You will not be able to get a good noght sleep due to the loud music coming from a nearby establishment that was playing music at concert levels till 7am (this is on a weekday by the way - imagine a weekend). Aside from not being able to sleep all night due to the music you have the subpar rooms that are chic designed but have the odor of your grandmathers old outdated house. Location is close to downtown but after 10pm you have this walking dead drugged up demographic wandering all over. This place at tops should cost $40 a night as it's a polished motel located blocks away from miami worse neighborhood. You been warned.
They required the credit card holder to
Be present… even though he lives an hour away…. So inconvenient!!! I complained and later he called the cops and had me kicked out… telling my story to anyone i know and to avoid this place!!
The cops were great, woke me up in the middle of the night. Thanks for the great customer service!! Never again!
The Vagabond is a no frills great place to stay. The room was comfortable and the pool was clean. Would have scored higher if the hotel had better parking, better coffee, an included breakfast, and more amenities. The shower was excellent and the overall location is prime.
Fabulous, historic hotel in the heart of MiMo. A comfortable place with a friendly helpful staff. We stayed in a Catalina King room - it was spacious and well appointed. We had a very enjoyable stay. Very walkable location with plenty of restaurants and shops to choose from. Highly recommended!
Thoughtful design for comfort and artistic in mid century Miami style updated with modern amenities. Good size pool with most rooms facing it.
My room was quiet and cozy. Dehumidifier ceiling fan and window A/C give lots of control over comfort. Front desk friendly and mattress comfortable. Despite other reviews I found lighting excellent at this category hotel. Much better than a Fairfield, Courtyard or Hilton Garden etc.
Only con is if you’re sensitive to light the entry doors to rooms have a large panel that allows light in. Great during the day but at night less so.
I’d give it 4.5+ and I haven’t even gone to the bar or diner across the parking lot. Which look amazing.
Overall, I had a great experience staying at the Vagabond and would recommend to others.
PROS: The hotel is really cute & kitschy. The exterior has been beautifully redone & the rooms themselves are very cute and clean. The restaurant at the hotel is great, and has a wonderful happy hour deal on both food and drinks. The pool is also absolutely lovely & Sebastian at the bar was so kind and made a great drink. There is a desk in the room should you need to do any work, and the WIFI was super fast and reliable.
Also a huge plus to have free parking on site -- at other places in Miami you are required to do valet for up to $50/night.
What is HUGE and really great is that this hotel doesn;t have those pesky "amenity taxes" that most places in Miami charge in addition to the advertised rate.
CONS: There isn't much artifical or overhead lighting in the apartment, and given that it is a motel style and most rooms are on the first floor / there are a lot of guests walking by it is tough to maintain privacy IF you want your apartment to be lit. It is really quite dark without having the blinds open & your room completely visibile to passersby.
The service isn't great. Housekeeping was quite rude & the concierge wasn't too helpful. The TV advertises that it has smart tv capabilities, but I was told very unapolegetically that it doesn't work.
Mid-century with all the with modern comforts- large Retro-inspired rooms, super clean comfortable and colorful
The pool area was a beautiful - so large and lush - super relaxing!
