I go this cafe every two week and it is my favorite spot to eat dessert and drink coffee. Not only in Miami, it is the best place in the world. Besides the team is very lovely
A staple of Miami Beach, one of the few restaurants open for almost 20 years and tucked away on Espanola way . Romantic magical ambiance inside and out and incredible savory and sweet French crepes
A Frenchman living in New York, I came across À la folie on Easter weekend. Inside, the place is very small (perhaps 5 tables?) so we decided to eat outside. The best part of dinner was dessert; the pear crepe with almond filling was pretty good. As for the rest: the hard caramel layer on the crème brulée was way too thick, the croque monsieur was definitely subpar, and the savory crepe with chicken was so dry. Overall a very unremarkable restaurant (and food) that might please only people who are not familiar with French food.
We got the ratatouille crepe (get the goat cheese otherwise it’s bout nourishing enough from a nutritional stance!) and the ham, mushroom and Swiss. The flour is delicious.
Regarding service, I was disappointed that the waiter didn’t know where the goat cheese was sourced from. I wanted to know to what extent it was local.
This place would be 5 stars all around if it was more organic and locally-sourced conscience.
It seems like your experience will depend on the owner’s presence. It’s overall a great place, and the only French restaurant in Miami Beach. It’s located in the very agreeable Española way, and boasts great dishes you won’t find elsewhere. I’d advise you to treat yourself with typical French stuff you can’t find elsewhere, the paté/rillettes, charcuterie, saucisse de morteau,etc.. but the staff seemed pretty inexperienced and uneducated about the French food, last time as they misunderstood the dishes we were asking for, thank God we know all of these or else we would’ve been eating pâté thinking it was rillettes. Also the œufs cocotte, although good, were completely cooked, the yolk is supposed to stay liquid in such dishes.
Great little taste of a French cafe in Miami. With the casual vibes, they don’t rush you and as the cafe is not polished, it feels like a real European cafe, especially with the street it is on. Solid French food, pastries & coffee.
Cute little cafe with some indoor and outdoor seating. We tried the escargot, pea soup, fish of day (branzino) and the tuna crepe. Also, creme brûlée and tunisia crepe for dessert. Everything was enjoyable. The branzino was cooked and flavored perfectly.
It’s rare to go to a restaurant and think the food is decent and then raise your eyebrows in pleasant surprise at the check when it arrives. Great bang for your buck. The beef medallions were a real highlight.
I've always wanted to go here and finally got to go the other day. The food was really good. The vibe is very chill and I will definitely be back. My boy Brian works here and he is the man.
waited an hour...
They never put our order in. We only waited so long because they said to be patient because they were really busy. This was our second and LAST time here. Never got our food..
I wasn’t impressed by the food on Miami Beach in general but this little cafe next to our hotel proved to be my favorite spot for breakfast. ????
The pricing is very reasonable ($10-11 for sweet crepes and a bit more for savory ones) and the menus are printed in newspaper format, which I thought was very cute. The tea and coffee are served in bowls. The tea is loose leaf but a bit bland (this is more of a US problem tho).
Shh.. don’t tell anyone.

Chère et pas terrible du tout.
1er et dernière fois.
Si tu es Français n’y vas pas.
