CASTRO PRETORIO DISTRICT
The area of Castro-Pretorio owes its name to that of a barracks, that of the special body of praetorian. It extends between Piazza Esquilino, via XX Settembre, Porta Pia, Aurelian walls and Termini station. It is the most important of Rome: there are travel agencies and all kinds of places reserved for travellers, all in intense traffic. Many fashion and shoe shops align along via Nazionale. Two jewels not to be missed: the Diocletian's Baths (with the basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli inside) and the Roman National Museum.
