LE SENTIER DE DÉCOUVERTE DU MONT ROUGE
The forest of the hamlets of La Chapuze, Montchanis and Rocherols welcomes you on trails that take you on the slopes of the Red Mount and in the upper Sumène valley, where there are ancient mills. These trails will make you aware of the rural heritage of this place so attractive to its landscapes, geology, history, fauna and flora. To find out more about this amazing site, let yourself be guided for about two hours - 3 300 m with a high difference - through the discovery trail of Mont Rouge. This route is marked with a signs that tells you the locations shown on the map and the distances to reach them. You will meet six stations indicated by signs where the title of the station and a number corresponding to the distance travelled from the parking du du de Guérin. At the top of the Mont Rouge, a beautiful orientation table with carved lava and magnificent panoramic view over the volcanoes of Du. Beware! The summit of Mont Rouge is bordered to the south of phonolithiques cliffs: don't get away from the trail!
