QUINTA DAS PALMEIRAS

This very small zoo with miniature botanical garden is one of the tourist attractions of Porto West, you can kill about fifteen minutes, or even more if you stop there for a coffee break. On a hill in the centre-west of the island, this oasis is the work of one man, Carlos Alfonso, and more than 50 years of hard work. In an environment of lush vegetation, contrasting with the rest of the island, the youngest will enjoy observing several varieties of birds in freedom or in captivity. Worth a look.
