AÉROPORT DE PORTO SANTO

In the heart of the island, the airport was inaugurated in 1960 about 2 kilometres north of the capital of Porto Santo. For the record, it was used as a secondary base by NATO and now has 3,200 metres of runway (after expansion). It is therefore possible to reach Porto Santo by plane from Madeira, but the connection is made by small aircraft that are always full in advance. We therefore advise you to book as early as possible if you have chosen to arrive on the island by plane. The journey takes only 25 minutes.
