In full nature, this small family pension offers various well-equipped rooms (especially in the second building, which is worth the financial sacrifice, the main structure being an austere one), 40 minutes from Santana on the trails. It is the most recent official youth hostel on the island, inaugurated in August 2009. Close to the city center, part of the building is the result of the restoration of the old Pensão Figueira. It offers 52 beds distributed in 15 rooms (14 multiple rooms with WC and 2 doubles with private toilet). Reservations must be confirmed according to advance payment (10 days in low season and 1 month in high season). Santana, known for the simplicity of typical houses, quite close, and hosting a significant plot of the laurel forest - declared the heritage of humanity by UNESCO in 1999 - the hostel is classified as nature inn/adventure.
