It is at an altitude of nearly 475 m (it climbs dry!), in a panorama of endemic species, that the "Lime Road" museum brings together a part of Madeira's history. Discover the rural life of the inhabitants of the past and their limestone extraction activity (unique in Madeira). A traditional hut, levadas, poios and a traditional limestone mining system, a cable system that brings the wood down from the top of the mountain, are reconstructed. However, you will quickly get around it and the access can be quite discouraging!
