From the airport (where it is strongly recommended to rent a car to discover the island), it takes about 45 minutes to arrive in Calheta, the sunniest area on the island. You will appreciate the movement: along the south coast of Madeira, bordered by the ocean on one side and the interior landscapes of the other, it is quite beautiful. The holiday club, at first sight without charm, reveals all its qualities when it comes to functionality! The whole is composed of two buildings, the main offer to all its balcony rooms and view on the Atlantic, the second located right behind the cliff side (impressive!) is equipped with a sumptuous, on the ground floor. The recently renovated hotel has a hundred spacious, comfortable and elegantly decorated rooms; All rooms have air conditioning, TV and mini bar. For the restaurant, you can choose between the buffet restaurant, with a view of the marina, where all meals of the day are served (rich and varied) and a à la carte restaurant (with an extra charge) offering fusion, local and international cuisine served in the restaurant Onda Azul. The Calheta Beach Hotel is also equipped with a large outdoor swimming pool with its cozy loungers but also: Children's pool, indoor pool, boiling bath, hammam and massage service. The pool bar is pleasant with a beautiful covered terrace, the indoor bar is very large, with sofa and billiard. The excellent reception is provided by a friendly team and professional service (the comments of the golden book are unanimous), including French. The beach of fine sand is public and swimming in the ocean is a real pleasure. A shuttle bus connects the hotel to Funchal several times a day. On the nature side, beautiful hikes await guests (information at reception).
