In the city centre, on a surface area of 8,300 m², it offers an astonishing density of species. For the record, this garden, established in the 1880s, also took the name Jardin Dona Amélia between 1897 and 1910. The convent of São Francisco once stood there, as some ruins show. At the entrance to the garden, observe the bust of Simón Bolívar (nicknamed el Libertador), the dragon trees or the Canary palm trees. A kiosk with a terrace installed under the trees invites you to make a restorative stop.

Petit et agréable moment de détente dans ce "petit jardin". Petit mais riche avec ses plantes, arbres et point d'eau, les canards y semblent trés heureux.

We loved public garden in the town centre much for a break, to drink a poncho at the snack bar, to see the lizards on the benches and the very luxurious and varied vegetation.
In France, you would call this place a square, in view of its small size, but in the case of this municipal garden, the numerous species, magnificent trees, exotic plants and flowers, statues, allows you to use without complex terme Garden. Downstairs, beautiful entertainment street taxis awaiting a guest. Opposite, the famous Toyota garage, decorated with beautiful azulejos. At the top of garden, above the fountain, a snack bar allows you to eat in peace. A visit to this garden, complimentary, part of unmissable discovery of Funchal.
