This museum seeks to recreate the atmosphere of a typical Madeira house of the late 19th and early 20th century, with tapestries and embroidery, as well as local crafts and British furniture. This is where Madeira embroideries are certified. The site now houses the Madeira Wine Institute which has merged with the Institute of Embroidery, Tapestry and Crafts. It controls regional wine-growing activities and the certification of Madeira wines.

Notice en français mais la numérotation ne suit pas l'ordre de la visite .
Par contre tout le reste de l'établissement était fermé aux visites...
