It was once owned by an English family, then the Regional Government bought it in 1980 and restored it for the enjoyment of the Madeirans. The 35,000 square meter park now houses a cafe, swimming pool, tennis, squash, padel courts, picnic area, children's playground, and a fantastic, fully renovated garden. You can admire century-old trees, tropical flowers and other plants from all over the world. The manor house, a fine example of a late 19th century Madeiran quinta, houses an exhibition hall.
