Hotel offering rooms in perfect harmony with ancient Egyptian, Chinese and Cambodian arts

How do you combine the avant-garde with ancient civilizations? This is what the Urban Hotel, owned by Jordi Clos, director of Barcelona's Egyptian Museum, has achieved. Its originality makes it hard to describe. The state-of-the-art design of the lobby and 96 rooms are in perfect harmony with ancient Egyptian, Chinese and Cambodian art. And the hotel's must: the panoramic rooftop terrace where you can enjoy a cocktail and a small swimming pool to cool off in summer. An excellent address with a warm welcome. Highly recommended.

This was a great hotel! Service was great and we could walk to all of our activities in the central city. The room was excellent.

I chose the hotel because I read something in Condé Nast Traveler that touted hotel Urban’s great location for access to Madrid‘s top museums as well as its great design. The location is phenomenal—close to the great museums, as well as wonderful parts of the old city and fun exuberant Spanish Street life and sociability. The Hotels design aesthetic greatly exceeded my expectations, both in the common areas and the rooms. The Papua New Guinean art was well used to provide interest. The best part of my families three days stay was the friendliness and hospitality of the staff, whether at the front desk, with luggage or calling rides. The breakfast food was superb, and the service was especially attentive. Hotel Urban greatly exceeded our expectations and made our trip to Madrid very memorable. The one downside that my wife noted was that the lighting for makeup application was difficult. She suggested a lighted make up mirror in the bathroom would fix this.
