The Belgian Embassy in Spain offers consular services to Belgians living in Spain. To enroll in the consular register, Belgians must meet certain conditions, including not being registered in a Belgian municipality. Registration gives access to administrative services such as passports, electronic identity cards, consular certificates and more. In addition, only registered Belgians are entitled to take part in elections for Belgians abroad. The relevant consulates are located in Alicante, Barcelona, Madrid and Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Adults must provide certain documents, such as a certificate of registration in the Spanish municipality, a copy of the NIE (Numéro d'Identification d'Étranger), a copy of the Belgian electronic identity card, and fill in a registration form. Minors must also provide certain documents, such as a copy of the birth certificate and a copy of the parents' or guardians' ID.
