Situated just off the road leading to the small bay of Dwejra, this tower, erected in 1652, dominates the coast. Its main quarry is dug into the side of the cliff leading down to Dwejra Point. Built and armed with three powder cannons by Grandmaster Lascaris, it is one of Gozo's 4 coastal watchtowers, along with Xlendi, Mgarr ix-Xini and Isopu. All were designed to protect against pirate attacks. It is in a good state of preservation and can be visited by the public.
