FORT MOSTA

Monuments to visit

Located 1,5 km north of the city, the fort dates back to 1878. Built to defend the island, he never served. However, its underground passages rendered services during the Second World War.

They are currently in full restoration to be open to the public. The Victoria Lines, these lines of defence built by the British in 1897 and on which the fort is located, extend southwards towards Fomm ir-Rih Bay and, in the north, to Naxxar and Gharghur, neighbouring villages. Further afield, towards the north coast, at the road of Saint Paul's Bay, they are reinforced by the Dwejra Lines.
