MAMO TOWER
This tower is a fortified country residence built by the Mamo family in 1657 against pirate invasions. The building is characterized by its St. Andrew's cross shape. Its central room is particularly beautiful. A Punic tomb from the 3rd century B.C. was discovered while excavating the surrounding ditch in the rock. Right next door stands the small chapel of Saint-Gaëtan, dating from 1657. The first church dedicated to this saint (a 16th-century Italian priest) in Malta, it was traditionally very popular with local fishermen.
