This Italian restaurant is often referred to as one of the best places in California. It is true that you will not be disturbed: 7 tables only, with some outdoor tables for the summer, candles everywhere, wine list and tempting menu. It is therefore preferable to reserve some time in advance. They ask you to double confirm your arrival. The signature dish of the great chef is to be tried: the eggplant pancakes filled with smoked salmon, a delight! For dessert, we recommend the white chocolate ice cream. Notice to food lovers!

After 4 days in South Tahoe, all I can say is the food doesn’t even come close to other popular ski towns. Our only exception so far is Cafe Fiore. We didn’t know what to expect walking into the very small, ~12 person dining area but were very pleasantly surprised by the food. The pasta was all cooked very well, but what stood out was the freshness of the ingredients and the sauces. Many times, pasta is over sauced with over powering flavor. All their’s were extremely fresh and light tasting. We also got their swordfish (a house specialty) and it was outstanding. We’re never had fish cooked exactly like that so it was a standout. Even the minestrone soup surprised me to the point where my 8 and 5 year olds were gobbling it down. This is a must try restaurant in the South Tahoe area!

What a great find! My daughter and I go on a long ski trip every year and i rely on her to find great restaurants. Lots of hits and misses. Cafe Fiore was definitely a huge hit. The food, service and ambiance were all perfect. We went with another couple and the 4 of us were really happy with our appetizers, salads and entrees. And the wine selection was well curated with fair prices. I had the seafood fra diavolo. It was perfect. If i can get a reservation, we'll be back this week.

A top tier dining experience, Cafe Fiore is absolutely the best restaurant in Tahoe. I dine here every time I visit and it is always exceptional. The menu is both delicious and creative. The ambience is magical—elevated and intimate. The service is impeccable. I can’t recommend this restaurant enough. Reservations are hard to come by, so reserve weeks in advance!
