Old Sacramento State Historic Park is home to the majestic Delta King, a former steamboat converted into a hotel and restaurant.
It is the major attraction of the city. The Old Sacramento neighborhood was the last stop of the Pony Express before it became the terminus of the transcontinental railroad. The architecture of the buildings mixes wood and brick, due to the many fires that ravaged the city. As for the strange elevation of the buildings, it is due to the constant flooding. Along the waterfront stands the majestic Delta King, a former steamship converted into a hotel and restaurant.

Comme au far west
On a très vite fait de faire des liens avec le far west à l'époque des cowboys car l'architecture des bâtiment nous le rappelle sans cesse. Cependant, les voitures d'aujourd'hui garées le long de ces bâtiments, ainsi que les boutiques touristiques, geek, et les marchands de glaces font que cet endroit perd une partie de son charme. A voir malgré tout.

Un vieux quartier préservé de Sacramento le long du fleuve. Bel endroit pour une pause-déjeuner. Ne pas manquer de visiter le Sacramento Railroad Muséum, situé en bordure du quartier. De superbes présentations montrent l'évolution de la conquête ferroviaire de l'Ouest jusque nos jours. Même si comme moi, vous n'êtes pas passionnés de trains, vous tomberez sous le charme du didactisme et de la présentation de ces salles.
